When I was a beginning home-schooler, I realized that writing was an essential element to a complete education. However, I did not feel equipped to teach this all-important task on my own. So, I was very excited when I learned about The Institute for Excellence in Writing and their methods for teaching writing structure and style. After attending the Teaching Writing Structure and Style Seminar (twice), I felt much more confident and actually had a method that worked for us. Since this is not a set curriculum, but rather a guide, it fits perfectly with whatever subject you are learning about. Over the past eight years, we have progressed through three children and many of the ideas offered by The Institute for Excellence in Writing and highly recommend them to everyone.
