Whether you are new to homeschooling or are an experienced veteran, the books in this category can be of great help to you. Every one of them contains practical advice and ideas that can be applied to just about any homeschooling situation. Earlier on in my homeschooling days, I would love to read about other families' experiences. It was refreshing to see that not everyone follows the same routines or uses the same approaches to their days. Reading about other peoples' successes and failures helped me to constantly reevaluate my own experiences and modify my methods as the need or desire arose. After perusing through a guidebook, I would be motivated and eager to get started on one or more of the ideas presented, which kept me from experiencing burnout during the years. Even today, when I make the time, I like reviewing these books to discover still more new ideas that I never noticed before, or to rediscover old ideas that I had forgotten. All of the books in this category are designed to either assist you in building your own style of schooling, to provide you with practical advice on how to teach a particular subject, to give you ideas on ways you can supplement or modify what you are currently using, or just to provide inspiration. |
